We breathe shallow when we’re anxious. We hold our breath when we’re afraid. We forget to exhale when we’re trying to hold it all together. In a world obsessed with doing more, even our breath has become another thing to control. We’ve learned how to manage the breath, but not how to be with it.

Should it be circular? Deep? Boxed? Holotropic? Should we follow the method, the lineage, the teacher with the loudest voice?
And if breath is life itself, how did it get so complicated?

For me, this began 25 years ago as an exploration of technique — but it’s become something much more intimate and alive.

Because even if you’ve never called yourself a “breathworker,” you’ve felt it — the ache beneath your ribs when life asks too much.
The quiet relief of that one honest exhale.
The sacred remembering that happens when you finally stop forcing and start feeling.
